Ralph Dowling, President and CEO of The Peoples Bank was honored with the Edna Ross Award at the Chestertown Tea Party Festival on May 25, 2019. The Edna Ross Award was created by the Chestertown Tea Party Festival Committee to celebrate local business owners for their outstanding service to the community.
Dowling was selected to receive the award this year because of the guidance he has provided to The Peoples Bank in becoming a major supporter of the local community. Programs such as Chester Gras which raises money for the backpack program, Guest Chef Dinner which raises money for United Way of Kent County, and scholarships for local high school students are just a few of the ways that Dowling has led The Peoples Bank in supporting the community.
Commenting on receiving the award, Dowling said, “It is such an honor to receive the Edna Ross Award and to be recognized for our collective efforts in supporting the residents of the region. We take great pride in being a part of such a great community.”
Dowling has been the President and CEO of The Peoples Bank since 2012. He offers a leadership style that is based on strong business ethics along with an emphasis on community service. Under Dowling’s influence and example, all employees at The Peoples Bank are encouraged to participate in community events and organizations.
